1940's Charm + Modern Comfort

Point Loma, CA

Originally built in 1941, this Point Loma home is about as charming as it gets! The Dutch Colonial architecture creates a welcoming aesthetic and all the modern renovations make it the perfect family home. When staging this home our designers took inspiration from the original design, coastal neighborhood location, and the modern buyer to style the over 3,700 square feet.

Even just pulling up to the driveway you notice the charm of this house and as you enter it becomes even more apparent just how special this home is. The study was one of our team’s favorite rooms to style, with its original gun racks, brick fireplace, and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. We added a functional desk and two cozy armchairs for days spent curled up with a good book.

The home included two living room spaces, the first downstairs was styled with coastal comfort in mind. With light colors and soft touches of blue, we kept this naturally light room very neutral. Upstairs was a second living space that could serve as a great play room or entertainment room. Our team styled it with an extra-plush sectional and young artistic touches.

Resort-Style Pool

One of the best parts of the home was the resort-style pool. With both sunlit and covered space, this pool felt like an old-Hollywood escape. We styled the space with modern wood outdoor living pieces and California-inspired throw pillows to give the space a fun and elevated look and feel.

Even though the home was originally built in the ‘40s, a lot of renovations had been done including a brand new kitchen and bathrooms which really elevated this home. The mix of both modern luxury and historic charm was what really inspired our team to blend the perfect decor accents to tie this home together.
